Effects of mechanical nonlinearity of viscoelastic dampers on the seismic performance of viscoelasticlly damped structures

Viscoelastic (VE) damper exhibits significant mechanical nonlinearity under dynamic loads due to variations in the temperature, excitation frequency, and occurrence of large strains. However, existing research literature, such is barely considered, its effects on aseismic behaviours viscoelasticlly damped structure (referred as VE structures) are also unclear. In this paper, a modified equivalent fractional Kelvin model established depict with introduction internal variable parameters. Through comparison mathematical models for performance an individual damper, it found that proposed has high prediction accuracy, especially large-strain working condition.
